Product Management
Product Management — Manage your product catalog
Simple, non-technical guide for claimed shop owners and managers.
What it does
Product Management is where you add, update, view and remove the items and services your shop sells. Use it to keep product details, prices, stock counts, images and tax info up to date — and choose which items show on your public shop listing.
Where to find it
From your dashboard: Dashboard → Operations → Product Management (or the “Products” menu).
At-a-glance: what you can do
Add new products or services (name, SKU, price, images, etc.).
Edit existing items (change price, stock, description, images).
Remove items you no longer sell (will block deletion if there are sales recorded).
Show/hide items on your public shop listing (toggle display).
Filter and sort product lists and paginate results for easier management.
Important fields — what they mean
Name The display name customers and staff see.
SKU
Your unique product code (Stock Keeping Unit). Use clear, consistent codes (e.g., TSHIRT-001).
Barcode Optional machine-readable code for quick scanning (must be unique if provided).
Category
product or services. If you sell a service (e.g., repair, installation), choose services.
Unit Price & Currency Price per unit and currency (USD, INR, etc.). Required.
Unit of Measurement How the product is measured (piece, kg, litre, hour, service, etc.).
Stock Quantity How many units you have in inventory. Leave blank or 0 for services.
MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) Minimum number a customer must buy (optional).
Description Detailed description to help staff and customers.
Specifications Key-value pairs like color, size, material. Helpful for product pages and search.
Tax (rate/type/inclusive) If you charge tax, enter the tax rate and type (GST/ VAT etc.). Choose if the unit price already includes tax.
HSN/SAC Code For markets that require classification codes (India etc.).
Weight & Dimensions Used for shipping or logistics.
Main Image & Gallery Images Upload a primary photo and up to several gallery images (typically limited to 5). Use clear, well-lit photos.
Display on Shop Toggle whether this product appears on your public shop page or online catalogue.
Add a product — simple steps
Click Add Product.
Fill required fields: Name, SKU, Unit Price, Unit, Currency, Category.
Add optional details: barcode, stock, description, specs, tax, weight, HSN/SAC.
Upload a main photo and gallery images (good photos sell).
Save — the product is now in your catalog.
For services: mark category services. Weight/dimensions and stock aren’t needed.
Edit product — what you can change
You can update any details, replace images, adjust stock, change price, or toggle visibility. When uploading new gallery images, old ones are removed (so be careful).
Delete product — a few notes
You can delete products not linked to any sales records.
If there are sales tied to the product, deletion will be blocked — this protects order history and accounting.
If you no longer sell an item but it has sales history, consider toggling Display on Shop off instead of deleting.
Display on shop
Use the toggle to control what customers see on your public shop page:
On = appears to customers.
Off = hidden but still available internally.
This is useful for seasonal items or temporarily unavailable goods.
Photos & media tips
Use a clear main image that highlights the product.
Add additional images showing different angles, packaging, or usage.
Recommended: JPEG/PNG, good lighting, neutral background.
Keep file sizes reasonable for faster loading.
Inventory & sales checks
Keep Stock Quantity updated after purchases or restocking.
If stock reaches zero, hide the product or mark it clearly as “Out of stock.”
The system prevents deleting products that have sales history — this keeps reports accurate.
Tax & pricing tips
Decide whether your listed price includes tax (tax inclusive) or not.
Enter correct tax type and rate for accurate receipts and reporting.
For marketplaces requiring HSN/SAC, fill that field.
Best practices
Use consistent SKU and barcode formats.
Keep images and descriptions updated — they help staff and customers.
Mark one product at a time as not displayed rather than deleting it when you might need records later.
Use categories and specifications to make product search and filtering easier.
Common problems & fixes
SKU or barcode already used
Use a unique SKU/barcode; edit the conflicting product.
Product won’t delete
Check if there are sales tied to it; if so, hide it instead.
Images not uploading
Ensure images are valid JPEG/PNG and within file-size limits.
Price or currency wrong
Edit the product and update unit price and currency.
Stock out of sync
Adjust stock quantity manually or check recent sales to reconcile.
If an issue persists, provide the SKU and shop name when contacting support.
