Simple, user-friendly instructions for the Professional Store Calculator in your shop dashboard. Designed for store owners, cashiers and managers — no technical knowledge required.
What is this Calculator for?
The Professional Store Calculator gives you quick, reliable math tools right inside your dashboard:
Basic Calculator — fast arithmetic for everyday tasks: totals, discounts, markups, simple VAT calculations.
Scientific Calculator — advanced functions for more complex needs: percentages, powers, roots, trig, logs, factorials, constants (π, e), and more.
Use it at the counter, for pricing decisions, margin checks, conversions, or when you need exact results while you work.
Who can use it?
Anyone with access to the shop dashboard can use the Calculator. It’s handy for owners, managers and checkout staff.
Where to find it
Dashboard → Professional Store Calculator (tabbed interface: Basic and Scientific).
Basic Calculator — What you can do
Add, subtract, multiply, divide.
Use parentheses for order-of-operations (e.g.,
(100 + 50) * 0.9).Clear, backspace, and equals.
Keeps a history of recent calculations you can reuse.
Quick steps
Click numbers and operators on the keypad, or type on your keyboard.
Use
=or Enter to compute.Use
Cto clear,←to delete last character.Click a history item Use button to load it back into the display.
Scientific Calculator — What you can do
All basic operations plus:
^(power),%,n!(factorial),√,x², trig functions (sin, cos, tan), inverse trig, log(base 10),ln,abs,floor,ceil,round, and constantsπ,e.Toggle between DEG and RAD for trig (DEG = degrees).
Memory buttons:
MC,MR,M+,M-.Full history with reuse options.
Examples
Sales tax removal (tax-inclusive): if price
118and tax18%:118 / 1.18→ base price.Markup: cost
80, markup 25% →80 * 1.25.Convert margins: gross margin on price
200cost150→(200-150)/200 = 0.25→ 25%.
Keyboard Shortcuts & Input
Numbers and
+ - * / ( ) .work in both calculators.Enter or
== compute.Backspace = delete last character.
Escape = clear.
ploads π,eloads Euler’s number (scientific mode).Numpad operators and Enter work too.
Tip: the calculator avoids stealing typing from other page inputs — it works only when the calculator view is active.
History & Reuse
Each calculator keeps a recent history shown to the right.
Click Use on an item to load its expression back into the display for editing or recomputing.
Clear History removes saved entries. Reuse Last quickly reloads the most recent expression.
Results Modal & Help
After every calculation you can view a results modal showing:
The full expression you entered.
The formatted result.
A brief summary of supported functions and keyboard tips.
Best practices for shop use
For pricing and tax: always double-check tax-inclusive vs tax-exclusive calculations.
For discounts: use multiplication (
price * (1 - discount%)) to avoid rounding mistakes.Use history to avoid re-typing repeated calculations (e.g., daily promotions).
When in doubt about units (degrees vs radians), toggle the DEG/RAD switch in scientific mode.
Common examples (copy-paste ready)
Remove 18% tax:
118 / 1.18→ base priceApply 15% discount:
100 * (1 - 0.15)→ 85Markup 30% on cost 250:
250 * 1.30→ 325Total for 3 items priced 99.99, 49.50, 12.25:
99.99 + 49.50 + 12.25Percent of total:
part / total * 100→ percentage
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Q — I typed an expression and got “Invalid expression”. What now? A — Check parentheses balance and operators. Remove unsupported characters and try again.
Q — My history disappeared. A — You or someone cleared it; use Clear History only intentionally. Reuse Last will restore the most recent saved entry if present.
Q — Trig looks wrong. A — Make sure DEG/RAD toggle is set correctly for your input (default is DEG).
Q — Can I print results or export history? A — You can view results in the modal and copy/paste. For exporting, copy the history entries manually or paste results into your shop records.
